After a long series of internal alpha tests, theyre getting ready for a beta launch soon. While not produced by Pavonis proper, Long War Of The Chosen is exactly what it sounds like an expansion-compatible version of Long War.

Long War Studios, the development outfit responsible for great XCOM 2 PC content such as the Alien Pack and the Perk and Laser Pack mods, has a new name: Pavonis Interactive, and a new web site.

Its a full overhaul of the game at both the strategy and tactical level, making campaigns longer, more difficult, and more interesting. Its been called LWOTC informally for a while, so this just makes it official. Long War of the Chosen is a port of the Long War 2 mod to War of the Chosen. And as part of that, were using the new name Long War of the Chosen publicly to help distinguish it from original Long War 2. From what I could tell, this priority is not like the decoy where if the enemy sees Sparks/Shen they will always go for it*, but you can put your soldiers in riskier/flanking positions (don't leave them too exposed/open to flanks, they will get targeted). Welcome to a new version of Long War of the Chosen This is the first beta version and marks effectively 'feature completedness'. Since Sparks can't use cover he is usually the focus on the enemy (easier target). Julian focused Sparks like hell until I got it out of sight from Julian, making him go for Shen. I noticed this when I first got Sparks, the turrets would always try to get him and when fighting the sectopod. Now there’s a Long War for XCOM 2, and it. This is something i noticed and played for a bit, though I don't know the details: both Sparks and Shen are priority targets, meaning the enemy will try to kill them before your soldiers. Long War was one of the first XCOM reboot’s most popular and beloved mods, so much so that XCOM 2 ended up liberally cribbing notes from its playbook. While I doubt this will make you do the mission again, there is a way to make it a bit easier.
